What is it?
This page allows Initiators to create a new project to contribute data to. The Initiator becomes the project manager for the project. On this page, the user can provide basic metadata for the project. This basic metadata will be available to website users to obtain metadata for locations in the database. For example, the name provided on this page will be used to identify the project throughout the website, and so therefore should be something meaningful and descriptive.
Fill in each text box next to the different fields. For specific fields:
Name: this should be a short, descriptive name for the project that will be used to identify the collection of data throughout the website
Description: this should be a longer description about the project, including things like the purpose of the data collection
Start Date: select from the drop-down menu the date data collection began for the project
End Date: select from the drop-down menu the date data collection ended for the project
Sample Design: Describe the sample design used for data collection (e.g., Stratified random sampling, Opportunistic weed mapping)
Sample size: the number of data points collected for the project
Context: the context of the data collection
Caveats: any caveats associated with the data, such as major drought year
Click 'Submit' to create the new project with the information you entered.
You may contribute data to the newly created project, add people with different roles to the project, and edit the project metadata information you provided on this page.
