About Us

Colorado State University is in the process of centralizing Geospatial Sciences in Higher Education Institutions around the state of Colorado. Goals of this effort include:

  • Initiate discussions among colleges and universities within Colorado regarding the array of geospatial programs and certificates offered, courses taught, and how best to meet student needs.
  • Facilitate communication about educational and research opportunities at our institutions and explore options for greater coordination of efforts.
  • Identify the strengths, emphases and offerings of each institution.
  • Work towards coordinating efforts across the state to maximize efficiency and minimize duplication.
  • Provide information on: the State of Colorado GIS activities; GIS-related workforce development programs in Colorado; ESRI Development Centers; the potential of new government funding for GIS-related programs.
