The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences houses GIS courses. Students are able to minor in Geographic Information Science and Technology (GIS&T) which allows integration into Business, Archeology, Biology, Geology, Environmental Sciences or any major of their choosing.

Partnerships - Resources - Technology: An intership program with the Grand Junction BLM Office for students pursuing a minor or certificate at Mesa. ESRI state wide license.

Verner Johnson

Interests: Research is related to the tectonic development of the Uncompahgre Uplift in west central Colorado. GIS, GPS, geophysical and geological information are used to develop subsurface geology to determine to tectonic activity of the uplifting Uncompahgre.
